More on "I'm Still Growing" by Joyce Landrof

There was a very interesting concept that was presented in this book near the end...in the last chapter about diversity among Christians...I don't remember the guy who she accredited with it but back around 1978 according to Landrof there is/was a christian fiction book out that expressed this very thing of diversity in Christianity...Like Baptist vs Catholic vs Methodist vs etc.

The theme of the book was a conversation between two men, whom were once blind but each made to see by Jesus, Himself.... They each shared exactly how Jesus healed them... One said Jesus spat on his eyes and he was able to see a little then He rubbed his eyes and was completely healed. The other said that Jesus just spoke and he was healed... then, they began to argue with one another that Jesus couldn't have healed the other as they were saying. That only the way Jesus healed them was the "right" way.

The funny thing about this fiction depiction of Jesus healing two different blind men from two different places in two completely different ways is that it is biblically true. Both stories can be found in the same book ...Mark!!!

Passage Mark 8:22-25

22 And they came to Bethsaida And they brought a blind man to Jesus and implored Him to touch him.
23 Taking the blind man by the hand, He brought him out of the village; and after spitting on his eyes and laying His hands on him, He asked him, "Do you see anything?"
24 And he looked up and said, "I see men, for I see them like trees, walking around."
25
Then again He laid His hands on his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and began to see everything clearly.

And...

Passage Mark 10:46-56

46 Then they came to Jericho And as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road.
47 When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"
48 Many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"
49 And Jesus stopped and said, "Call him here." So they called the blind man, saying to him, "Take courage, stand up! He is calling for you."
50 Throwing aside his cloak, he jumped up and came to Jesus.
51 And answering him, Jesus said, "What do you want Me to do for you?" And the blind man said to Him, "Rabboni, I want to regain my sight!"
52 And Jesus said to him, "Go; your faith has made you well." Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road.
