Day 29 of 150

Ps 29

1Ascribe to the LORD, O sons of the mighty,
Ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
2Ascribe to the LORD the glory due to His name;
Worship the LORD in holy array.
3The voice of the LORD is upon the waters;
The God of glory thunders,
The LORD is over many waters.
4The voice of the LORD is powerful,
The voice of the LORD is majestic.
5The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars;
Yes, the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6He makes Lebanon skip like a calf,
And Sirion like a young wild ox.
7The voice of the LORD hews out flames of fire.
8The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness;
The LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
9The voice of the LORD makes the deer to calve
And strips the forests bare;
And in His temple everything says, "Glory!"
10The LORD sat as King at the flood;
Yes, the LORD sits as King forever.
11The LORD will give strength to His people;
The LORD will bless His people with peace.

V1-2 Ascribe to (or accredit) the Lord, oh sons of the mighty of which is from Him, the glory are strength due to His name by worshipping Him in holy array.

V3-9 The voice of the Lord:
  • is upon the waters (that is H2O in all forms hence the thunder reference and acknowledgement that it is 'over many waters'
  • is powerful
  • is majestic
  • breaks the cedars, even the strong ones from Lebanon (these were what David considered to be the strongest wood or solid wood of his time which is why he bought so much of it to build the Temple of God)
V6 and speaking of Lebanon...He makes them skip like a calf and Sirion like a young wild ox,,,
So in His temple everything says, "GLORY!" to the King of kings

v10 speaking of King...He sat as such during the flood (that's with Noah and the arch) and He sits as such forever!!!

v11 His people...will be given His strength and blessing of peace

Thank You Lord Jesus in Your name-amen.

v 9b, 7, & 10 (in that order) Sometimes God has to clear the field by doing a control burn then flood it to wash it all clean basically start over so He can cultivate us to produce fruits in and with us.
